The Garden Of the Earth

The Garden of the Earth, a journey around the vegetable world.
On 16,06 a, the garden park, designed to form a map of the world, invites you to discover the fabulous intertwined voyage of men and plants. Meant for walking, dreaming and finding out, it houses over 700 different European species. Each plant is situated on the continent it came from: look for lilacs in China and for dahlias in Mexico.
Persons in character dress, playful and interactive set-ups complete the extraordinary voyage: the "Terra incognita", the "Grain of Life Space", and the "Garden of Experiences". In the last one, respect for the Earth is offered through numerous gardeners' attitudes and experiences.
The little extra of the journey: all along the European forests, 220 reproductions of 86 different mushroom varieties are hiding between mosses and ferns.

Spectacle de danse en partenariat avec le Bief (centre culturel du Pays d’Ambert) Au Jardin pour La terre le 8 juin A 15h30 : Visite du jardin + spectacle= 8 €/ adulte, 5 € / enfant à partir de 6 ans A 17h : Spectacle seul = 5 et 3€

07/07/2013 to 25/08/2013 :

« Toucher, cueillir, gouter, manger… » Tous les dimanches et tous les mardis du 07 juillet au 25 août 2013 Durée : 1 h 30 A 15 h et à 16 h 30 - pour toute la famille Les plantes du jardin peuvent être comestibles, toxiques, médicinales, décoratives ou liées à des usages (parfois oubliés) dans l’agriculture, le jardinage, voire la sorcellerie ! Une balade émaillée d’anecdotes et de surprises, y compris gustatives. Pendant la visite, les enfants et leurs parents gouteront à des végétaux connus (comme par exemple les framboises) mais aussi certains plus surprenants (comme l’herbe à sucre).

08/07/2013 to 19/08/2013 :

« Les céréales du monde » Tous les lundis et jeudis du 08 juillet au 29 août 2013 Durée : 1 h 30 A 15 h et à 16 h 30 - pour toute la famille L’histoire des céréales présentes sur le monde entier date de – 4000 ans avant JC. En découvrant celles installées sur le jardin (ainsi que les pseudos céréales), on aborde l’histoire de l’humanité. Les visiteurs, accompagné du jardinier poète parcourront le monde à la recherche du riz, du sarrasin, du froment, du blé, du teff , de l’eleusine, du sorgho, de la larme de job, du sésame, du quinoa, du maïs, de l’amarante. Ils découvriront les différentes utilisations que l’homme fait des céréales et découvrira l’agriculture ancienne (croissant fertile, Afrique, Amérique).

10/07/2013 to 28/08/2013 :

• Les grands découvreurs ou le voyage de Christophe Colomb Tous les mercredis du 10 juillet au 28 août 2013 Durée : 1 h 30 A 15 h et à 16 h 30 - pour toute la famille Après avoir été accueillis sur le site, les enfants et leurs parents pourront profiter de la salle consacrée à la cartographie et à son évolution selon les pays et les âges, puis ils se rendront sur le belvédère, dénivelé de 25 mètres duquel ils auront le monde à leurs pieds. Ils se rendront ensuite en Italie pour rejoindre Christophe Colomb et revivre avec lui la fabuleuse aventure de la découverte du continent américain.

• Opening 2013 :

  From the 13/07 to the 23/08 : opened every day from 10.30 am.. to 7 pm.

  Guided visits with previous booking, Duration of a guided visit : 60 mn, Minimal number of persons for a guided visit : 30.
  Access partially adapted for disabled persons.
  Each child as from 6 years sees himself giving on his arrival the “booklet of the explorer”.
  He must arm himself with courage to traverse the world on the traces of the best navigators.
  With the return of its tour, a small memory of the garden is offered to him.
  Largest walk freely on the garden provided with a plan given to the reception.
  Attention because during this round world tour, you are likely to cross Christophe Colomb or the gardener poet!! These stimulating characters propose to you stroll interactive, animated and commented around seeds, of spices, the voyages, the trees, the flowers… *
  * Animations vary according to the days and from the conditions climatic.

  From the 1/06 to the 12/07 and the 24/08 to the 15/09 :
  Family : 19 € (2 adults and children of less than 16 years); Adult (+ 16 years): 6 €; Child (from 6 to 16 years): 3.50 €; Handicapped people (5 € by adult, 3 € by child).
  From the 13/07 to the 23/08 :
  Family : 21 € (2 adults and children of less than 16 years); Adult (+ 16 years): 6,50 €; Child (from 6 to 16 years): 4 €; Handicapped people (5 € by adult, 3 € by child).
