The Garden Of the Logis de La Chabotterie

The enclosed garden is bounded by two walls. A moat called an « Ahah » forms an artificial barrier without obstructing the view.
The historical garden has been restored thanks to old drawings and is now structured as we would have expected to find it in the late XVIIth an XVIIIth centuries.
The pleasure garden has a geometrical form with flower beds, box and yew borders. Beige, pink and ochre coloured gravels and blue strips of slate embellish the environment.
The vegetable garden is divided into squares with vegetables, herbs and medicinal plants. There is an interesting variety of vegetables and some of them have a spectacular shape or blossom (artichokes, cabbages...).

Festival Musiques à la Chabotterie Pour sa 17ème édition, le festival de musique baroque Musiques à la Chabotterie accueille les plus grands artistes de la musique des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles, sous la direction artistique du chef Hugo Reyne. Venez profitez de soirées d’exception à la Chabotterie et écouter les ensembles Almazis, L’Orchestre de Vendée, Rosasolis, Gli incogniti, Aria Lachrimae, La Simphonie du Marais et Hugo Reyne et bien d’autres.

Concours d’artistes peintres au Jardin du Logis de La Chabotterie Les 15 septembre 2013, dans le cadre des Journées du Patrimoine, venez découvrir le Logis de la Chabotterie, haut lieu de l’histoire vendéenne, ses salles meublées, son parc et son jardin clos régulier. Le concours est ouvert à toutes les techniques et tous les âges. Venez découvrir les nombreux artistes, amateurs et professionnels attendus sur le site au cours de la journée.
