Description
Once upon a time this authentic place, a fountain being the centre of its kitchen garden, bathed by the sea spray and embedded in nature’s greens, was a place of rest for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostella.
The landscape designer Olivier Damée has designed today’s gardens in 1999. They are meant to be at the same time leisure kitchen gardens and produce the vegetables for the restaurant kitchens. Every year from 30 to 40 different kinds of vegetables and about forty condiment plants are grown here. Not to forget the flowers and cereals, which add colour and diversity to those kitchen gardens.
Another original feature of this domain is the presence of numerous races of farm animals and its vineyard, the closest one to the seaside in this region. It represents two varieties of grapes: Chenin and Grolleau Gris.
The Auberge la Fontaine aux Bretons welcomes lovers of nature and offers food and bedrooms for a real return to the roots.
Created in : 1999, Surface : 1,2 hectares
