The Rayol Manor's Gardens

In 1989, the Conservatoire du Littoral bought the Domaine du Rayol, an estate abandoned for twenty years.
The rehabilitation and restucturing of the garden began immediately after purchase.
The landscapist Gilles Clément has created gardens using the flora and plants of various Mediterranean type climates of the world:
- Mediterranean area, South-East California, central Chile, Capetown area of South-Africa, Southern Australia.
Thus, from the old garden of the Domaine several gardens display the vegetal landscape of these Mediterranean climates.
"Jardins du Domaine du Rayol" have obtained the special label of "Remarquable Garden" awarded by the French ministry of Culture (2005).

Festival land art : Art et paysage au Jardin des Méditerranées - 1re édition Dans ce jardin évocateur des paysages méditerranéens du monde, propriété du Conservatoire du littoral, des artistes, plasticiens, architectes ou paysagistes, ont été invités à produire des œuvres dans le jardin, tels des jardiniers-plasticiens. Leurs formes d’intervention artistique sont multiples tout en respectant la philosophie de ce jardin conçu par Gilles Clément (« faire le plus possible avec et le moins contre »). L’objectif est que chaque œuvre s’intègre et révèle ces paysages du Domaine du Rayol, la poésie et l’émotion du site, dans le respect des éléments vivants. Informations pratiques : Ouverture du jardin : de 9h30 à 18h30 (19h30 en juillet et août). Tarifs : Adulte : 10 € / Réduit : 7 € / Moins de 6 ans : gratuit / Famille : 22 €. www.domainedurayol.org

  The property of the Rayol, place of the Conservatory of the coast is open every day, all the year.
  The aperture times change based on the seasons :
  - from January to March and November-December : 9.30 am. to 5.30 pm.
  - from April to June and September-October : 9.30 am. to 6.30 pm.
  - July and August: 9.30 am. to 7.30 pm.

  Unguided visits.
  Guided visits, Duration of a guided visit : 1h30 à 2h00.
  Access partially adapted for disabled persons.
