LEGTA (High School of General, Technological and Agricultural Teaching) and CFPPA (Centre of Professional Continual Teaching and Apprenticeship) of Savoy and Bugey.
The "Public Local Establishment of Agricultural Professional Training and Teaching" of La Motte Servolex is situated in Savoy in the very Alps. It has been established in the Reinach manor since 1958, where it disposes of a manor of over 40 hectares, including a park containing a collection of 200 kinds of trees, and a castle in neo Louis XIII style. Park and castle have been registered in the historical monuments supplementary inventory in 2003.
The high school dispenses initial school formation.
3 possibilities of professional training:
- General teaching with general and technological 12th grade, and scientific A-Levels
- Technological teaching with A-Levels in technological, agronomical and livestock management sciences
- Professional teaching enabling students to prepare professional diploma in different sectors.
The high school has been labelled “High school for mountain environment agricultural and environment professions”. Some professional courses are adapted to high level skiers and to skiers preparing the alpine skiing coach state diploma.
2 professional university grades : “Valorisation of mountain produce and spaces” (Valpesmont) and “rural energy and engineering”, in collaboration with Savoy University.
The CFPPA offers in the context of professional continual formation and of apprenticeship, numerous qualifying and/or specialised training courses, which can be adapted to each student’s particular situation. The Centre is labelled for the accompaniment of disabled persons.
The farm on Reinach manor gives teachers the possibility of organising practical training sessions, of using real technical and economical situations and of organising professional classes where students are confronted with practical situations.
Workshops open to the school and high school valorise the whole farm: milk cow breeding, sheep and snails, cheese production, horticultural activities…
Students’ life:
The association ALESA offers divers activities and outings: cinema, photography, role-play, music, theatre, and shows…
The sports’ association gives students the opportunity of practising sporting competition: mountain biking, overland hiking, snowshoeing competitions, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, canoeing, kayak, mountain bike raid, volleyball, badminton, hand-ball, rugby, soccer…
