A piece of countryside in the city.
La Feyssine Urban Natural Park covers 45 ha from ”Tête d'or” Park to ”Mirible Jonage” Park, on the banks of the Rhône.
This ancient water catchments zone is a real green lung in the city.
It was transformed in an Urban Natural Park by the council in 1999. The project respects the site's natural qualities, making it more welcoming at the same time. As the city's only large green space, La Feyssine is a space of freedom and discovery. The principle : showing plants' evolution and taming nature without domination.
Much used by walkers and bikers, the park is also visited regularly by schools who find it a useful pedagogic medium for the discovery of nature. In spring, the council organizes a fête, ”Les Bons Plants” (meaning ”good plants” as well as ”good ideas”) to open the Park to an even larger public.
