This Public Park was created by Placide Massey, he left it to the town of ”Tarbes” at his death in 1853. This jardin in a style of a country park, associates imense lawns with shadey pathways. It has also two lakes, irrigation canals lined with large pebbles, and superb trees, (ceders of Lebanon, sequoias, virginian tulips trees..), many rare fragrances help to complete the park, comprising roses, camelias, azeleas and flowering rockeries.
An ancient greenhouse crowned with a dome, a music kiosk, a cloister dating from the 15th century and several statues punctuate the promenade. Peacocks and decorative wild fowl roam at liberty. Pony and trap, children games, bar , and model railway provide other activities for this ”Jardin”.
