This park became the city's property, on April 13th 1868, by virtue of Mr Olbius Hippolyte Antoine Riquier's testament. It was an annex of the Jardin d'Acclimatation (zoo situated near Paris). It is located in the southern part of the city, and offers a 7 hectares surface. Affording numerous rare and exotic species, shaded paths, a lake, an exotic greenhouse, a cactus garden, and a great amount of games for the children, the park is at the same time a pleasure garden, a botanical park, and an ornamentation garden.
