The Rose Garden Of Saint-Galmier : The rose garden has been created in 2000, on the banks of the river Coise. It is situated at the foot of the hill on which lies the village of Saint-Galmier. The village has received “ four flowers” on the list of France’s flowered villages and it has been included in the guide of the “Hundred Loveliest Detours of France”.
The garden contains 300 varieties of ancient and modern roses, a beautiful snowball collection and numerous perennials, as well as iris, daylilies, water plants and liquid ambar, which bring in turns their colours to the garden. Numerous species come from floricultures in Loire and Rhône-Alpes.
A small observatory offers a panoramic view of the garden and the the Forez mountain chain.
